Do you enjoy nature and beautiful views over fields with orange or lemon trees? Is walking, hiking or biking in the mountains just what you need? Then consider buying a villa in the Valencian region! In about 20 to 30 minutes from Valencia you can find some great properties. You will often find a lovely pool, privacy, beautiful views and your own paellero (an outside paella ‘kitchen’).
In Valencia there are villas available for almost any budget. From your own villa with private pool you can enjoy life among Spanish locals, near lovely and lively cute Spanish towns, with permanent neighbours but also mixed with some other internationals. And keep in mind that the metro lines from Valencia city go very deep inland (all the way to Lliria!).
Prices for Valencian villas are quite interesting. You can buy a lot of property for your money; nice villas are available around €175,000 (or a bit less if you are lucky), but there are also luxurious villas on the market when you have a larger budget.
In Valencia (and in Spain in general) there are villas located on ‘rustico’ or ‘urbano’ land. If you search for a villa around €150,000 to €200,000 the properties often will be located on rustic land. Subsequently this means larger plots, more privacy, and great views; just keep in mind that you won´t be able to build a swimming pool (if not already there) or to extend a property. However, you can renovate the already existing property if desired. From €175,000 – €250,000 and more it is more likely that properties are located in an urbanisation. If you have plans to build or extend a property have your lawyer check all documents related to the ground the property is located on and what possibilities there are. We will be happy to assist you to find a good English-speaking lawyer. Also, good to know: most villas in the surroundings of Valencia are built in a Spanish style; some more modern than others.
In Valencia, and this applies to any large city, the properties closer to the city (and the coast) are more expensive. Are you looking at buying a villa in Valencia around €350,000 – €500,000 or more? It might be worthwhile to look at villas in towns like La Eliana or La Pobla de Vallbona. Located closer to Valencia city, these are in nice villages and with properties often a bit more luxurious.
Furthermore, if you intend to buy as an investment it might be interesting to look for a villa in the surroundings of Valencia instead of an apartment in the city. As it is no longer possible to get a tourist license in the city, there still are some possibilities inland. However, keep in mind that regulations might change and properties do need to be located in an urbanisation. To make sure that there will be no surprises we strongly advise you to reach out to a lawyer to do the final check.
